Designated as a prefectural natural park, Tsu no Umi, famous for white sand and green pines, is a popular spot where many families visit for clam digging, tateboshi, swimming, etc. during the spring to summer season. In clam digging, you can catch hamaguri (clams), mate clams, surf clams, and asari clams. Being a shallow sea, on days of spring tides, water recedes about 150 meters offshore, allowing you to catch various shellfish including asari.
