The Ichikawa family, who served as hereditary barrier keepers, once had a beautiful 300-year-old weeping cherry tree. The current 65-year-old cherry tree at the Ichikawa residence is a grandchild of the previous one. Its branches weep like willow, with blossoms reaching the tips, and together with the Nakagoe family's cherry, it is a legendary tree that colors the spring of Niyodo. It is also a historic site where the sacred object stays overnight before the Akiba Festival.
