The Akita Prefectural Museum reached its 50th anniversary in 2025. Half a century after opening in the Kanezawa area of Akita City, the museum has promoted the collection, research, exhibition, and dissemination of materials with the aim of "deepening understanding of the nature and culture of the region and contributing to the development of science and culture among the prefectural residents." This exhibition looks back on the museum's history by introducing materials related to its founding, collections accumulated over half a century, and various activities.
