A winter tradition in Yomitan Village, Okinawa Prefecture. The “Yomitan Night Light Project” is a long-term event that colors the night with the theme of “light” to warmly liven up Okinawa’s winter. Within it, the “Ryukyu Lantern Festival” is held mainly at the Experience Kingdom Murasaki Mura. Murasaki Mura, which recreates the townscape of the flourishing Ryukyu Dynasty in the 14th and 15th centuries, is filled with “light” such as Chinese lanterns, lantern objects, and washi paper lanterns.
