The wisteria festival at Tamajiku Park, home to an enormous wisteria tree estimated to be over 450 years old, designated as a natural monument of Saitama Prefecture. The grounds span about 16,000 square meters with 30 wisteria plants whose pergolas are draped in beautiful purple blossoms. On weekends and holidays during the period, events include local specialty sales, Yosakoi Soran dance and chorus stage performances, koto music and outdoor tea ceremony under the wisteria. Adjacent Tamajiku Shrine hosts historical processions and shrine tours.
