The nature trail at Michi-no-Eki Narusawa features wild Mitsubatsutsuji (three-leaf azalea) — about 2,000 plants and 10,000 stems — growing in a red pine forest on the Sea of Trees at the foot of Mt. Fuji. The lava tree molds and sinkholes along the trail are vestiges of ancient lava flows. The beautiful contrast between black lava and pale pink azaleas is breathtaking. During the festival, local specialty food stalls set up and the nature trail opens free of charge.
