A dam with a beautiful lake surface called the 'Hisoku no Umi (Mysterious Color Lake).' The surrounding mountains have many trees that magnificently color the lake surface in each season. Standing as a guardian deity of that scenery is a bronze statue of a maiden made by sculptor Tadao Koga, near which is a poetry monument by Taro Yamamoto, considered the standard-bearer of post-war Japanese poetry. Walking along the surrounding promenade lets you fully enjoy nature in each of the four seasons. The beauty of cherry blossoms in spring and autumn leaves in fall is exceptional. In spring, the vivid contrast between the emerald-green water and cherry blossoms is beautiful.
