The historic Shikadome Power Station, which began operations in 1913 (Taisho 2), is a hydroelectric power station that uses a mountain slope. About 300 Somei Yoshino cherry trees over 50 years old line the water supply pipes on the mountain slope, and during the blooming season, it bustles with hanami visitors. Note that entry into the power station facilities is prohibited.
