ＪＲ播但線「竹田駅」から駅裏登山道経由で徒歩40分もしくは天空バス「竹田城跡」～徒歩20分、または山城の郷まで/北近畿豊岡自動車道・播但連絡道路「和田山IC」から車約10分（その後徒歩40分） ※入城時期により、登山道の規制等があります。
