Koyaji's rhododendron festival where rhododendrons in full bloom adorn the temple grounds. In the chisen kansho-shiki garden 'Genroku no Niwa' in the temple grounds, more than 1,000 rhododendrons of about 20 varieties, including Japanese rhododendron and Western rhododendron, reach their best viewing in order of early bloom, mid bloom, and late bloom everywhere. The temple grounds also feature a 50-meter aerial corridor where rhododendrons can be viewed even on rainy days, an Enkiri Hatai Jizo (Bond-cutting Eight-Body Jizo) that cuts ties with illness and bad luck, and ancient stone Buddhas, which can be viewed together with colorful rhododendrons.
