Harakiyama Myokyoji is an independent temple of the Nichiren sect founded in 1538. The grounds are spacious and the garden is beautifully maintained. The 'weeping cherry tree' on the grounds has magnificent branches that spread wide. Weeping cherry trees bloom earlier than Somei Yoshino and their petals fall quickly, so enjoy hanami a little early.
