A community-wide festival held on the third weekend of April each year (with a preview on Friday). For three days, the town of Ushifuka is painted in the colors of Haiya-bushi music. The Grand Haiya Dance — in which about 3,000 people of all ages, divided into groups and dressed in matching yukata and happi coats, dance through the streets — is an awe-inspiring spectacle. Other events include a marine parade, local performing arts, outdoor live concerts, and a seafood fair. Venue locations vary by event.
