This festival honors Princess Oe Iwashiro-hime, the birth mother of Emperor Kokaku. Born in Kurayoshi City in 1744 and taken to Kyoto by her father, she was known for her brilliant mind, high virtue, excellent calligraphy, and skill in poetry. In Utsubuki Park, the Oe Shrine holds the annual festival, with a ceremony and recitation of her poems planned.
