Matsuyama Castle is visited by many citizens and tourists throughout the four seasons, and in spring it is famous as a cherry blossom spot, bustling with cherry blossom viewers. The keep built before the Edo period is decorated with cherry blossoms in full bloom. The view is also superb, with the islands of the Seto Inland Sea visible. To reach the keep, it is convenient to use the ropeway or lift (paid) that runs to the 8th station of the mountain (the lift is suspended in rainy weather).
