In Yamanobe Town, many precious hina dolls brought via the Mogami River boat transport and safflower trade remain. The exhibition venue is the 'Furusato Museum' established on the grounds of the Sato Seigoro family, which prospered dealing in safflower and ramie in the Edo period. In the exhibition room utilizing the storehouse parlor, precious period hina dolls handed down in Yamanobe Town since the Kanei era (1624-44) are displayed. In the adjacent exchange center, Meiji-period hina dolls and temari balls are also exhibited.
