The 'Hakogawa Firefly Festival' began as a volunteer activity by local residents to preserve Genji fireflies in the Hakogawa river and promote them to people inside and outside the town. During the festival period, you can enjoy the fantastical glow of Genji fireflies from a traditional Takase boat. The event may be cancelled due to rain or river water levels.
