In spring, about 1,000 cherry trees including mountain cherry, Somei Yoshino, and weeping cherry bloom in full glory. Within the park are Nishiyama Zoo where you can see red pandas, Pandaland (compound playground equipment facility) popular with children, and the upper garden where you can spend time leisurely in a Japanese-style garden, making it enjoyable for a wide range of ages. After the cherry blossoms, it becomes a famous azalea spot with about 50,000 azaleas blooming in profusion.
