To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Geography Department, the museum will add natural history materials donated in May 2011 by Professor Emeritus Takamura Hiroki to the permanent exhibition and hold a commemorative exhibition. The donated natural history materials include rocks, fossils, and sand from deserts around the world. The permanent exhibition will feature some of the donated materials, such as stones called desert roses and fossils. All donated materials will be digitized and are scheduled to be made public from fiscal year 2026.
