Nishi Park opened in 1881. A long-standing scenic spot, it offers panoramic views of Hakata Bay and Shika Island. In spring, about 1,300 cherry trees including Yoshino and Yoko cherries bloom, drawing many visitors. During the hanami period, vehicle traffic on all park roads in Nishi Park is expected to be prohibited. Traffic restrictions are also enforced, so visitors are recommended to use public transportation.
