Sannohe Castle was built by the Sannohe Nanbu clan during the Warring States period (mid-16th century), with many remnants including stone walls, moats, and earthworks. The site houses the Sannohe Castle Onkokukan historical museum and a folk history museum, popular with history enthusiasts. In spring, visitors can enjoy Somei-yoshino, yaezakura, and the distinctive yellow-flowered Gioiko variety.
