The name 'Chagu Chagu Umakko' is said to come from the sound of bells ringing chagu chagu with each step. Horses dressed in colorful regalia carrying adorable children on their backs parade through the streets, a symbol of early summer in Tohoku. The sight of around 100 horses marching is breathtaking! Other highlights include a parade, photo sessions with the horses, traditional performing arts, and horse-related events.
