Listen to the chief priest's talk and enjoy Daifukucha (tea for good health and warding off illness). This is the oldest Hachimangu shrine in Yamashiro Province, founded by Kobo Daishi. A collection of seasonal flowers and trees inspired by Ashikaga Yoshimitsu's Flower Palace. Hear the secret stories behind the wall paintings. Heal your mind and body in the quiet precincts, free from the congestion of overtourism. In late March, camellias and plum blossoms can be enjoyed, and in early April, cherry blossoms as well.
