Known as 'Hyakunen-zakura' (Centennial Cherry Tree), this cherry tree stands on a small hill near Kigakuri, just past the Torigoe Tunnel on Prefectural Route 41 from Kashima toward Ureshino. With a height of 13 meters, the contrast between the tea fields and cherry blossoms is spectacular. During full bloom, many photographers and visitors come to see it. You can drive to the foot of the tree, but the road becomes narrow with no room for passing vehicles. The view of the mountain village from the hilltop is also superb, making it a beloved spot for many.
