A natural park spread on the middle slope of Mt. Sanri, with about 1,000 cherry trees blooming throughout. The number of cherry blossoms dyeing everything pink is overwhelming. The Usuzumi cherry within the park (over 600 years old), a Fukui Prefecture Natural Monument, is said to have been left by Otodonoo, who became Emperor Keitai, as a memento for his beloved Lady Teruhi, and is said to have been called Usuzumi cherry because its color gradually faded.
