The cherry blossoms of Yamazakigawa River are a nationally famous cherry blossom spot selected by the Japan Cherry Blossom Association as one of the 'Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots.' About 550 cherry trees line both banks of the 2.5 km stretch from Ishikawa Bridge to Ochiai Bridge, with the area around the picturesque wooden Kanae-kobashi being one of the highlights. Night illumination is planned for about 120m between Kanae Bridge and Kanae-kobashi during peak viewing time.
