Selected as one of the '100 Best Cherry Blossom Viewing Spots in Japan' in 1990, Mahito Park is one of the finest cherry blossom spots in the prefecture, drawing many visitors from within and outside the prefecture. The view of a pond and small island set against the pine-green backdrop of Mahito Mountain is breathtaking. Seasonal events are held throughout the year, including the annual 'Mahito Park Cherry Blossom Festival' from mid-April to early May.
