Performers in colorful costumes and strangely shaped hats skillfully wield mortars painted in black and crimson, dancing along a roughly 2km route to dedicate the performance to Yahirokami Shrine. This festival is designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Gifu Prefecture. Those who participate in practice and obtain a license may join the dance on the day. On the evening before (April 18), a hand-held fireworks launch is held as a pre-festival event.
