On the 3rd day of the 3rd month of the lunar calendar, a pair of paper dolls is placed on a straw bale with diamond-shaped rice cakes and peach branches, then floated down the Sendai River to carry away misfortune. A folk event wishing for health and happiness throughout the year. Tourists can also experience floating and making dolls.
