The Shingen-ko Festival is held annually in memory of the virtues of Takeda Shingen. The main event is the 'Koshu Army Departure'. Recreating the scene of Takeda Shingen departing for the 'Battle of Kawanakajima' where he clashed with Uesugi Kenshin, the Sengoku daimyo who ruled the current Hokuriku region. Ichikawa Udanji, who plays Shingen-ko this year, will lead a Koshu army of more than 1,000 in their departure. Three days packed with parades, sports, gourmet food, cultural performances, and events that both adults and children can enjoy while immersing in the Sengoku era.
