About 1,000 cherry tree avenue continues along the Gantogawa River and Sannogawa River flowing through the urban area, bustling with tourists during the season. It began when Mr. Kotokichi Toyohara, a businessman from former Fukuoka Town, donated 5,000 Yoshino cherry seedlings to the town from 1950-53 (Showa 25-28) and planted them along the river. 'Ganto Lights' made of bamboo craft are lit on the bridge railings, allowing enjoyment of magical evening cherry blossom illumination.
