推定樹齢800年の県下でも珍しい桜の巨木で、町の指定天然記念物となっている「弘法桜」。昔、弘法大師が杖にしていた桜の枝を立てた場所から生えたという伝説があり、ゴールデンウイークには老木と思えない程見事な桜を毎年みせてくれる。
