An Edo Higan red weeping cherry tree said to be about 400 years old, located in the precincts of Myokanji Temple in Shirakawa City, Fukushima Prefecture. The flowers are deep pink, and because of the cherry tree's deep elegance, it is called the 'Otohime Cherry.' It is said that this cherry was given to the chief priest by Sendai feudal lord Date Masamune. The branches of the red weeping cherry are voluminous and spectacular.
