The Soma Hometown Summer Festival 'Soma Bon Odori Festival' is held on August 13 every year. Participants in matching yukata or costumes gather around the yagura (tower) and dance to the live performance of the Soma folk song 'Soma Bon Uta' played atop it. The venue features many food stalls and draws large crowds looking forward to the summer festival. Events include an opening stage performance, live singing by Bon Uta contest winners, a fan lottery with luxurious prizes, fireworks, and more.
