Sendai Toshogu in Aoba Ward, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, is a historic shrine designated as a national important cultural property and is also known as a famous cherry blossom spot. About 80 cherry trees are planted in the precincts, with their best viewing from early to late April every year. Beyond the staircase climbed up, there is also a magnificent spot where you can have a panoramic view of Sendai's streets together with cherry blossoms. On Sunday, April 12, 2026, 'Mori-no-Miya Ichi' will be held. Combined with a spring stroll through the precincts, local stores around Miyamachi (merchandise and food) will set up stalls, allowing you to casually enjoy local stores. Also, on April 18 (Sat) and 19 (Sun), 'Sendai Toshogu Spring Festival' will be held, with stalls lining up in the precincts and Toshogu Kagura, a Sendai City registered tangible cultural property, also being dedicated (*Event content may change).
