The Imayama Yamazakura wild cherry tree stands on the roadside in front of Imayama Shrine, with a trunk circumference of approximately 1.8 m and a height of approximately 13 m. The flowers are white and the new buds are brown and hairless. The flowers cluster in spherical bunches, blooming about two weeks later than early-flowering varieties. It was designated as a Natural Monument of the city on September 30, 2009.
