In spring, the beautiful weeping cherry trees in the temple precincts bloom in full glory. During the bloom, nighttime illumination is held (canceled in case of rain). On the first Sunday of April when the weeping cherries reach full bloom, a Cherry Blossom Festival is held with gagaku performances and food stalls.
