The Takehana Festival, held every year on May 3, is the festival of Yahatsu Shrine in Takehana Town. Gorgeous festival floats originating from the Edo period (designated as a Prefecture Important Tangible Folk Cultural Property) parade through the town. There are 13 floats in total, with about half rotating each year. The floats are adorned with brilliant drapes and mechanical doll performances and children's hand dances are offered as dedications, creating a grand spectacle.
