Along the Kitamachi Greenway on the north side of Hyuga City Station (along the JR elevated tracks, about 300m long), 67 Okamezakura trees are planted, and during the best viewing period the area is bustling with locals. Okamezakura is a type of early-blooming cherry tree, with a deeper pink color, and the flowers are slightly smaller compared to Kawazuzakura that bloom at the same time. In connection with the 'Hyuga Hyottoko Summer Festival' that represents Hyuga City, with the meaning of regional revitalization, 'we want to plant cherry trees named after Okame,' the Kitamachi district planted them as citizen trees in Heisei 24.
