A gorge where the Isai River has carved through massive rocks, creating dramatic formations, deep pools, and waterfalls. About 200 Somei-yoshino and Edobigan cherry trees line both banks over approximately 2 km. The aged Edobigan trees are said to have been planted on the order of Date Masamune, and are called Teizan-zakura (named after Masamune's posthumous title). Peak bloom is typically from mid to late April.
