A special exhibition focusing on the 5 large-scale mass extinction events (known as the 'Big Five') among the crises of life that occurred on Earth in the approximately 4 billion years since life began, approaching the evolutionary history of creatures' struggle for survival. Composed of 6 chapters including the first mass extinction event that greatly affected marine organisms, the history-largest extinction marking the end of the Paleozoic caused by large-scale volcanic activity, and the Cenozoic without mass extinctions added to the 'Big Five', the exhibition unravels the 'Big Five' through various pieces of evidence preserved in fossils and rocks, including world-first public exhibits. Numerous precious specimens from the Denver Museum of Nature & Science in the U.S. will be exhibited, and the results of an excavation survey conducted in Morocco specifically for this exhibition will also be publicly disclosed worldwide for the first time.
