A flower garden painstakingly cultivated since around 1961 by Kanae Kunita, a resident of the land. Every year around mid-April, delicate white, pink, and light-purple moss phlox (shibazakura) fill the vast grounds like a vivid carpet. Step inside and you're enveloped by a sweet fragrance — this beloved spot draws throngs of visitors during bloom season. The garden received the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award in 1992 and the Prime Minister's Award in 1996.
