Located in Kanagi-cho, Goshogawara City, Aomori Prefecture, Ashino Park features monuments to author Osamu Dazai and a stone marking the birthplace of Tsugaru shamisen. Visitors can enjoy the contrast between over 1,500 Somei-yoshino cherry trees and approximately 1,800 aged black pines. The Kanagi Cherry Blossom Festival runs April 23-29, 2026, with lantern illuminations from 18:00-21:00 each evening. As the largest spring event in northern Tsugaru, it attracts over 300,000 visitors annually.
