In 1960, lilac was chosen as the 'tree of Sapporo' through a public vote. The Sapporo Lilac Festival is a festival where you can feel the arrival of spring with the sweet fragrance. At Odori Park, where about 400 lilac trees can be enjoyed, various events such as brass band festivals are held, and at the 6-chome venue, you can also enjoy food and drinks. At the Kawashimo venue, more than approximately 200 varieties of lilacs bloom in full glory.
