Every year, from mid to late March, about 150 Somei Yoshino cherry trees at Tabaruzaka Park reach their peak bloom. Tabaruzaka is known as the site of fierce battles during the Satsuma Rebellion, and you can learn about the traces of that time at the Satsuma Rebellion Museum and the House of Bullet Marks. However, the park is now a beloved place of rest, where families can enjoy hanami away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
