The enshrined deity of Inoue Shrine is Minakatame no Mikoto, a water deity. The shrine's founding date is unknown, but a roof plaque from 1742 (Kanpo 2) exists. The parishioners have traditionally prayed for rain during droughts. Every year on the first Sunday in July, a wild mikoshi (portable shrine) parade takes place in the river pool; entry was once forbidden to women until this custom was established. After the mikoshi parade, there is a mochi-throwing ceremony, and local residents operate food stalls.
