Aira-no-Yamaue Mausoleum is locally known as 'Aira-san-ryo.' It is one of the Three Mausoleums of the Age of the Gods in Kagoshima Prefecture, a nationally rare 'cave mausoleum (mound tomb),' and is the burial place of Emperor Jimmu's father and mother. The approach, extending about 500 m, is beautifully green with the gentle murmur of the river, creating a truly divine atmosphere. In spring, it is also known as a famous cherry blossom spot, and at night during the blooming season, you can enjoy illuminated cherry blossoms.
