The Shogunfuji wisteria at Ohnakatori Shrine, estimated to be 660 years old and designated as a Natural Monument of Fukuoka Prefecture in 1970. Every year, festival lanterns are decorated in the shrine grounds to coincide with the peak bloom of the Shogunfuji, drawing many viewers as the Shogunfuji Festival. Brilliantly colored wisteria flowers bloom in full profusion across the approximately 500 square meter wisteria trellis. From Sunday April 5, lanterns are illuminated at night, creating a fantastical sight of lantern light shining on the Shogunfuji.
