Sakai Daiba Park, where about 240 Yoshino cherry trees bloom, is a representative park of the port town Sakaiminato City. There is the 'Sakaiminato Lighthouse' at the gun battery ruins built in preparation for the arrival of Black Ships from the end of Edo period to early Meiji period. Built in 1895 (Meiji 28), it was once dismantled but was restored in 1991 (Heisei 3) as a symbol of the port. During the 'Sakura Festival' period, the interior of the lighthouse is also opened to the public.
