The wisteria, designated as the town flower, draws many visitors from inside and outside the town each year. In the main venue, the grounds of Chifukuji Temple, there are purple and white wisteria trellises. The purple wisteria is a giant tree over 200 years old, and the 30m by 6m trellis, when at peak bloom, has flower clusters stretching up to 1 meter, delighting all visitors. Nearby Tokuzo-ji and Dogakuji temples also have wisteria trellises open for free viewing. Weekend stalls are planned during the event period.
