'Mt. Mayuyama Erosion Control Memorial Park' is a place where Yoshino cherry trees bloom in full glory and offers a magnificent view of the Ariake Sea. The statue of Holy Kannon Bodhisattva in the center of the park was created by Nishime Kitamura, in memory of the victims of the 'Shimabara Disaster' and in prayer for the erosion control of Mt. Mayuyama.
